Exodus 17:1-7

I worked at a restaurant in the 1980’s where the servers were expected to wait on 25 people an hour.  They paid $ 2.34 an hour and servers had to claim $1.01 in tips an hour. It will not surprise you that this particular eating establishment is now a desert.

Of course Moses had a few more mouths to feed than 25 an hour.  His pay and tip were even worse than mentioned above.  The Hebrew children saw him as the responsible party who brought them out of Egypt. They must not had heard God’s memo to Pharaoh delivered by Moses which said:

 “Let my people go.

Eternally yours,

 I AM.”
